Your right foot

This is so funny that it will boggle your mind. And you will keep trying at least 50 more times to see if you can outsmart your foot, but you can't.

1. While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor
and make clockwise circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction.

And there's nothing you can do about it!

That's fantastic! I love stuff like this. Beats working any day. Up late working on a presentation for a Grand Round. If it goes pear-shaped I'll just get everyone to draw 6's and circles in the air and see what happens....

Saw this on NHSBlogDoc. This was great fun. I managed to do it then realised that in my usual impatience I hadn't read the instructions properly. I'd used my dominant hand which is my left...

Anyway, my wife predictably failed at this (she is right-handed) and then got confused and started drawing the 6 out from the cursive part, which meant that she was moving her hand clockwise, so her foot was OK. Not an intentional cheat, she is easily confused in the directional sense.

I can't wait for someone to come up with the explanation.

Best - Tony

No doubt that drawing the six from the bottom up changes the effect. Using Roman numerals has a similar spoiler effect.

Hmm I had heard this one before, and it's stg that really drives you crazy..but sitting around bored here in my office I've given it a try again, and it seems there's a way:

If you do it reaaaaally slow, then it seems to work! Give it a try URself :) Made me pretty happy!
